Street/Illegal Opioids

The euphoric high experienced by some opioid users has led to explosive growth in the illegal use of the drugs.

Heroin is only available illegally. Its street names include: Big H, Black Tar, Chiva, Hell Dust, Horse, Negra, Smack, and Thunder. It is often cut or mixed with Fentanyl, which is much stronger than heroin.

Illegal Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is manufactured outside of a pharmaceutical company. It is often mixed with other drugs such as heroin and cocaine.

"It’s important to know that sometimes non-opioid street drugs have been mixed or cut with an opioid, so a person might not know that they have taken any."
