What is the first word you think of when you hear healthy? Most people would say it’s all about exercise, but when it comes down to it, the path to wellness starts at your plate!
March is National Nutrition Month. It focuses on the importance of nutrition and health and helps educate individuals on making informed food choices, developing consistent eating habits, and prioritizing regular physical activity.
The food and drink choices we make daily can make a big difference — both now and in the future. The key is to plan ahead! When you go out to eat, compare nutrition information, if available, and look for healthier options that are grilled, baked, broiled or steamed. And, if you’re at home, make healthy meals or snacks! Think raw veggies with hummus, or a tablespoon of seed butter with an apple or banana. You don’t need to be a chef to create nutritious, healthy meals.
Let’s focus on making nutritious choices and building healthy eating habits!
