November is National Family Caregivers Month

National Family Caregivers month is a time to stop and honor those caregivers who sacrifice themselves to care for the needs of elders, children in need of care and individuals with disabilities. According to the CDC, 1 in 4 American Indian / Alaskan Native adults are caregivers. This special month also provides an opportunity for us to pause and consider how we can raise awareness around issues caregivers face including financial stress, mental and physical strain and the need for respite care. The links below provide a few resources for caregivers and their advocates. Join American Indian Council on Alcoholism in recognizing and supporting the caregivers in our families and communities this November and all year long.
